A brazen burglary has left a Scottsdale jewelry store reeling after a thief made off with $250,000 worth of unique jewelry. The break-in, which occurred at Lake View Jewelry Boutique on Hayden Road, was captured on surveillance footage that shows the suspect meticulously timing their entrance before smashing the front door and quickly escaping with the goods.

The theft, which took place in the early hours of May 1, lasted less than a minute, with the thief entering the boutique at 2:59 a.m., and making their getaway by 3:00 a.m. In an interview with FOX 10 Phoenix, co-owner Moisei expressed his shock at the fast-paced crime, "He got in at 2:59 a.m., and in 53 seconds he was gone," adding to the sting of the overnight heist.

Lake View Jewelry Boutique is a family-owned business, operated by Boris and his son Moisei, who hails from New York and has been serving the Scottsdale community for five years. The stolen items are particularly unique, as Boris has been hand-crafting jewelry with distinct identifiers for four decades. "He put his heart and soul into every item that he makes because we don't just buy and sell. My dad makes one piece and that's it," Moisei told FOX 10 Phoenix.

The intricacies of Boris's jewelry, such as secret compartments and his personal stamp of initials, could be crucial in recovering the items. In light of the events, the family is turning to the community for assistance. They are reaching out to the residents of the Islands at McCormick Ranch, whose homes back up to the shopping center, breadcrumbing a hope that any surveillance footage captured around the burglary's timeline might offer leads.

Scottsdale police meanwhile, are continuing their investigation into the crime. The footage obtained by 12News from the boutique's surveillance shows the suspect peering into the store before committing to the break-in. Despite the clear images of the episode, authorities have yet to release information regarding the identity of the suspect in question.
