Chaos erupted at Grady Hospital yesterday afternoon when a 26-year-old male arrived with a gunshot wound to the right hand. The Atlanta Police Department reported that officers were called to the hospital on 80 Jesse Hill Junior Drive SE at about 3:33 PM in response to a person shot. The victim, whose identity hasn't been disclosed, was fully alert and breathing when officers arrived on scene.

According to the Atlanta Police Department's news release, the preliminary investigation has suggested that the injured man was self-transported to the hospital to receive medical attention. Despite the violence of the act, the victim remained conscious and was promptly cared for by medical staff.

The Aggravated Assault Unit is piecing together the events leading up to the shooting. However, no suspects have been named, and the circumstances prior to the injury are still unclear. The Atlanta PD continues to dig into the case, urging anyone with information to come forward.
