San Antonio has been rattled by a spate of gun violence that claimed the lives of three men over the weekend in separate incidents, police confirmed. An early morning altercation at a local hotel escalated to gunfire, resulting in the death of a 38-year-old man on Saturday, while a Sunday shooting outside the popular Alamo Drafthouse Cinema left two men in their mid to late 20s dead, according to, authority statements.

The first incident occurred just before 2 a.m. Saturday in the 6900 block of Interstate 35 North. Officers dispatched to the scene discovered a man with a fatal gunshot wound in a hotel parking lot, KSAT reported. The victim was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The San Antonio Police Department is on the hunt for the unidentified suspect who, after the altercation, fired their weapon and fled.

Less than 24 hours later, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema's parking lot became a crime scene after two more lives were taken. Officers responded around 2 a.m. Sunday to the theater's Park North location on Northwest Loop 410 near Blanco. Upon arrival, they encountered two men with gunshot wounds. Their efforts to save the men proved futile, and both were pronounced dead at the scene, as KENS 5 reported.

According to San Antonio law enforcement,, officials are consulting with Alamo Drafthouse security to glean more information on the suspects. Security personnel reported two men seen running from the scene of the cinema shooting, but by the time police arrived, chaos ensued with many individuals fleeing. No further injuries were reported in the cinema shooting, and the Homicide unit is currently spearheading the investigation, authorities told KENS 5.

While SAPD continues to piece together the events that led to these separate tragedies, no arrests have been made. The investigations into both shootings are ongoing, and officials urge anyone with information to come forward to assist in the identification and apprehension of those responsible for the violent outbreaks.
