A shooting at Polk and Ellis claimed the life of a 24-year-old man early this morning.

According to the SFPD, the victim was shot around 4:30am and transferred to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. No details have been released on the circumstances surrounding the shooting, but it appears it may have taken place at or near the Civic Center Inn, which was blocked off with caution tape this morning. Police say no arrests have been made.

The homicide comes just one day after a man was killed and three other people were injured in a shooting at Ellis and Jones.

There were also two more violent incidents in the area last night. On the 1100 block of Ellis Street, just a few blocks west from the fatal shooting, a 24-year-old man was shot while jogging around 10:30pm. The victim's mother drove him to the hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.

And a few blocks north, at Hemlock and Polk, a man was stabbed in the torso around 2am. Details surrounding this incident are murky, as the victim told responding officers that injuries to his eye and mouth were caused by a fall.
