A 23-year-old man was shot and killed yesterday evening on the 500 block of Head Street, a few blocks from Jose Ortega Elementary School.
According to the SFPD, the unidentified victim was found dead on arrival at 7:30pm. Suspects have not been identified or arrested, and no further details on the shooting have been released.
This homicide comes as violence across the city appears to be on the rise. Shootings in Oceanview, SoMa and Precita Park this weekend killed two people and injured three. And last weekend, incidents in Bernal Heights, Visitacion Valley, Lower Pac Heights and SoMa claimed the lives of four people and injured another four. In all, six people have been killed in San Francisco in the month of October.
