The SFPD and the Chronicle report that a 39-year-old man was attacked by a group of seven suspects in Sharon Meadow earlier this week.

The seven men, who were all roughly age 20-30, jumped the victim, knocked him to the ground, continued hitting him, then took his jewelry and ran away.

The victim's face was injured in incident, which occurred Tuesday afternoon at 1:40pm, but he refused medical treatment at the scene. The suspects remain at large.

We've asked SFPD Park Station for further information on the incident, and whether the suspects appear to be related to any of the other incidents in the Upper Haight's recent spate of crimes, like the robberies of Haight Street businesses and the stabbing at Haight and Stanyan last week. We also sought their tips on best practices for staying safe in the park. Stay tuned for more.

You'll also have a chance to ask questions of SFPD officers yourself at the Park Station community meeting, to be held next Tuesday, October 11th at 6pm at Park Station.
