As trees, lights, and ornaments begin appear around the city, Ingleside residents are organizing free events to help get locals in the holiday spirit. Here are a few worth checking out.

Neighbors in Action Holiday Party

The Ocean View, Merced Heights and Ingleside Neighbors in Action will host their annual holiday party at the Minnie and Lovie Ward Recreation Center on December 17th from 1-3pm. It's open to all ages, and in addition to free food for all, children under 11 years old will receive free gifts from Santa Claus.

Parents, remember to arrive early. Saint Nick has to hurry on his merry way at 2:30 p.m.

The Ave Bar Toy Drive

For those over 21, The Ave Bar on Ocean Avenue is hosting a toy drive in partnership with the SF Firefighters Toy Program on December 8th from 5 to 8pm. The bar is calling for people to donate ethnically diverse dolls to "help raise self-awareness and self-esteem in young girls."

Holiday Arts and Crafts at the Library

For those in a Do-It-Yourself mood, drop in on an holiday arts and crafts session at one of the neighborhood's libraries.

Ocean View Library's event will be held on Wednesday, December 21st, from 2 to 3pm, while Ingleside Library will host two events: a general one on Monday, December 19th from 10:30 to 11:30am, and a family-focused event on Thursday, December 21st from 4 to 5pm.
