Two employees at the 9th & Market location of Walgreens (which is housed on the 9th Street side of the Twitter building) were stabbed yesterday morning, after attempting to prevent a man from stealing items.

The two male employees, 27 and 37, were at work around 7am yesterday morning when the suspect, 37, entered the store and began stealing items. They tried to stop him, and he attacked and stabbed both of them with a knife before fleeing on foot.

The victims were both hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, and police immediately began hunting for the suspect.

"The sidewalk is closed in front of the Walgreens at Market & 9th," wrote tipster Jerry at 7:15am. "The store is not open due to the incident, and there appears to be blood on the sidewalk. Lots of police cars are in the neighborhood looking for a suspect."

The manhunt appears to have been successful: police were ultimately able to apprehend the suspect and take him into custody.
