Shortly after 10pm February 19th, police report that a man, 33, was assaulted on the 100 block of Parnassus when he inadvertently interrupted three unidentified suspects who had broken into his car.

The victim, it turns out, was Yonny Munoz, pizza chef for Bambino's Ristorante in Cole Valley, who was in the midst of delivering pizzas for the restaurant.

While the police report listed Yonny's injuries as "non-life-threatening" and condition "stable," neighbors report that he suffered a seizure as a result of the attack and is currently on the mend.

Hence the GoFundMe campaign, launched yesterday by neighbor Robert Snavely, with the goal of providing $10,000 for Yonny to cover medical expenses and fund his leave for medical recovery.

Since last night, neighbors have given $2,500, including contributions from New York Times bestselling author and Cole Valley resident Steve Silberman, and Finnegan's Wake owner Tom Frenkel.
