Mikha Diaz and Alana O’Neal, the sisters behind Hayes Street's Two Sisters Bar and Books, are shutting down their literary neighborhood cocktail spot. 

It's unclear why Two Sisters, which has been in business since 2011, is closing, but the sisters already have a new business venture in the works. 

According to Tablehopper, they'll be opening a new cafe and wine bar, Les Arceaux, on Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley, just north of the Downtown Berkeley BART station.

An opening date for Les Arceaux has not been set, but the new venture should be ready by this fall. 

Diaz is also working on a cocktail bar in the East Bay with partners Kathryn Kulczyk and Branden Cardelli. Though the name and location remain undisclosed, they hope to open it next year.

Two Sisters' longtime bartender, Michael Cecconi, is also at work on a new business venture: a line of bottled cocktails, which is currently going through the federal permitting process. He hopes to launch in 2018; in the meantime, Hayes Valley patrons of his Monday Night Mixology classes will be able to attend them at Les Arceaux.

Two Sisters' liquor license is currently in the transfer process, though they declined to say who'll be taking over. Once the transfer kicks in, the sisters will give longtime patrons 30 days' notice before they shut down.
