As we reported earlier this year, American Apparel's bankruptcy means that it will be eliminating its retail presence nationwide—including its three storefronts in San Francisco.

After months of progressively deeper discounts to liquidate inventory, the first of the three stores, at 1615 Haight St. in the Upper Haight, said goodbye last night.

The other two stores—in Union Square (363 Grant Ave.) and Cow Hollow (2174 Union St.)—will remain open a little longer: until Saturday, April 22nd and the end of April, respectively.

Successors to the vacating storefronts have yet to be named, but we'll keep you posted when we hear more.
