1 Suspect In Custody, Others At Large After Bayview Home Invasion, GunfightGoogle

Last night, officers from Bayview Station responded to a report of a home invasion robbery that led to a officer-involved shooting, followed by a neighborhood-wide search. As of this morning, one person has been captured, but police are still searching for the remaining suspects.

Around 11pm, police responded to the 2100 block of Quesada Avenue to investigate a home invasion and immediately established a perimeter around the property. As police prepared to enter, "several suspects exited the rear of the building," according to an SFPD press release.

After at least one suspect shot at uniformed officers, one officer returned fire as "suspects fled over fences and through adjacent backyards." Pursuing on foot, police captured one suspect, but a number of others continued to flee. None of the bullets struck anyone, but police issued a shelter-in-place order while sweeping the area.

Although police expanded their perimeter and brought in additional officers and a canine unit, no additional suspects were arrested. The search was suspended and the shelter order lifted around 4:45 am.

Police are interviewing the home's occupants and describe this as "an active and ongoing investigation in the early stages." The incident is the subject of separate investigations by SFPD Homicide Detail and Internal Affairs Division, the District Attorney's Independent Investigations Bureau and the Office of Police Accountability.

Anyone who has information relevant to the case is asked to call the SFPD tipline at 415-575-4444, or may text their tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with "SFPD."
