Hayes Valley/Western Addition Crime & Safety: Home Invasion At Gunpoint, Bike Collision, MorePhoto: Teresa Hammerl/Hoodline

While we don't report every crime that occurs in Hayes Valley and the Western Addition, we do our best to keep you informed about goings-on in the neighborhood.

Here's a selection of crimes that have occurred in the area since our last roundup in early April. Unless otherwise noted, all reports provided by SFPD.

Altercation, stabbing on Hayes and Octavia streets

On April 17th, at 8:30pm, a man walked up to a woman and man at the intersection of Hayes and Octavia, and made a comment. The man responded to the suspect, and the suspect started a physical altercation with the victim.

The suspect stabbed the victim with a tool, then fled on foot on Hayes, eastbound towards Gough Street. The victim was transported to the hospital. No arrest has been made.

Traffic collision involving bicycle and Muni bus

On April 19th at 9:40pm, a 38-year-old man was riding his bicycle when he collided with a Muni coach at the intersection of Market and Gough streets.  

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries, and was transported to a hospital. 

Home invasion and robbery at gunpoint

At 5:45pm on April 24th, a 20-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man forced open the front door of a residence on the 1500 block of Eddy Street.

The two suspects then pointed guns at a 24-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman. One of the suspects also hit a victim in the head with a gun.

The suspects took laptops and a phone, then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries to the head, but refused medical attention. 

Robbery between friends

On April 29th at 1:30pm a robbery occurred on the 400 block of Grove Street. A 27-year-old woman and a 43-year old man were arguing, when the man hit the woman and took her backpack. He then fled the area on foot.

The woman had no visible injuries or complaints of pain. No arrest has been made. The suspect got away with the woman's backpack and wallet.

Business robbery on Fillmore

On May 4th, at 5:21pm, a 20-year-old man entered a business on the 2000 block of Fillmore Street.

The suspect handed an employee a note for money. The employee then gave the suspect the money. He took it and left the scene with an unknown amount. No arrest has been made.
