'Sue's Kitchen' To Bring Deco Sushi, Matcha Sweets To SoMa Lunch ScenePhotos: Sue's Kitchen/Facebook

Sue’s Kitchen, a new lunch spot, is set to open this summer in SoMa, in the former Andersen Bakery space. The new eatery's menu is built around deco sushi ("colorful and tasty bite-sized") and homemade matcha sweets—desserts made with finely-ground green tea.

Starting at $11.75, eaters will be able to choose either four, six or eight pieces of deco sushi to go with a weekly side salad (arugula, caesar or tofu). Sushi, which will be presented along a cafeteria-style bar counter, will include salmon sashimi, house-marinated ikura and teriyaki eel, to name a few.

Sue’s will also serve up homemade matcha desserts, like tiramisu, brownies, cheesecakes and cookies. The restaurant also has matcha lattes, fresh vegetable juice and Japanese teas listed on its menu.

According to its web site, the matcha at Sue's Kitchen will be sourced exclusively from Marukyu-Koyamaen, a 300-year-old tea company based in Kyoto, Japan.

Sue’s Kitchen (303 2nd St.) will be open on weekdays from 11:30am to 2pm.
