We don't report every crime, but want to keep you aware of the incidents occurring around the neighborhood.

Here's a recap of the reported crimes that have occurred since our last round up. Unless otherwise noted, all details come from SFPD reports.

Public hearing planned for officer-involved shooting death

On May 10th, 11:30am, SFPD will hold a town hall meeting at 969 Market St. on the officer-involved shooting and death that occurred last week.

As we reported on May 3rd, two uniformed SFPD officers were walking a foot beat on the 900 block of Market Street (near Fifth) when they observed a white man stabbing an Asian or Filipino male.

At 11:22am, the officers intervened in the stabbing, and at least one of the officers shot the knife-wielding man.

The suspect was pronounced dead on the scene. The stabbing victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and released late in the evening of May 3rd.

Because an officer-involved shooting occurred, the incident is being investigated by the Homicide and Internal Affairs divisions, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Independent Investigations Bureau, the Department of Police Accountability, and the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police make arrest in early-morning homicide

SFPD responded to a call regarding a shooting at McAllister and Larkin streets at 2:22am on May 4th. Officers found 20-year-old San Francisco resident Christian Centano on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim later succumbed to his wounds at San Francisco General Hospital.

Although arrests have been made in the homicide, police are still asking anyone with further details about the incident to contact them anonymously at 415-575-4444 or by texting a tip to TIP411 with SFPD at the start of the message.
