An early-morning fire in the Mission has displaced three people, reported SFFD.

Firefighters responded to a one-alarm fire at 5:22am at the Frances Hotel (2084 Mission St.) near 17th St. The fire was located on the top floor in room 304, said fire officials, and sprinklers were activated.

By 5:31am, the fire was under control. After minor water damage, one occupant was allowed to return to their unit.

However, SFFD officials said two other units were rendered uninhabitable. Their occupants left before the Red Cross arrived at the scene and could offer services.

In the meantime, the displaced residents are encouraged to contact the Red Cross via the building manager or San Francisco's Human Services Agency (855-355-5757) which is aware of the situation and will respond if it receives a service request.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
