Oakland Weekend: 17 Ways To Put The Pedal To The Metalvia Pedalfest 2017

Pedalfest 2017, Oakland's annual celebration of "cycling, family, food and fun" returns to Jack London Square for its seventh year on Saturday with a daylong party for the city's cyclists.

With a crew of 120 volunteers, the event sponsored by Bay Area Bicycle Law and Drake’s Brewing Co. will present "bicycle shenanigans" like "an amphibious bike race, dare-devil stunts, art bikes, and live music on a pedal-powered stage."

Free to attend, Pedalfest 2017 runs from 11am to 6pm.

Thanks to the city's bike lanes and bike-sharing services, many of the events in this roundup are accessible on two wheels; just make sure you lock it up securely.
