Here's a selection of crimes that have occurred around the Sunset since our last roundup. Unless otherwise noted, all information comes from SFPD reports.

Man Injured In Monterey Terrace Home Invasion

A 61-year-old man was injured during a home invasion yesterday around 1:30pm after three armed men in their 20s kicked in the door to his home on the 100 block of San Aleso Ave. and assaulted him.

After bursting in, the robbers struck the man and stole an unknown amount of cash from him and a 60-year-old woman before fleeing in a vehicle. Police have not made any arrests in the case.

Armed Robbery At Stonestown Gas Station

Officers from Taraval Station responded to a report of an armed robbery at a Chevron station on the 1100 block of Junipero Serra Blvd. yesterday around 2:15pm.

According to the victim, a 57-year-old man, an armed suspect in his 20s entered the station, then “brandished a handgun and demanded property.” After the victim opened a cash register, the suspect took an unknown amount of currency and left the scene.

Muggers Steal Man’s Camera On Great Highway

On July 10, a 30-year-old man was near Lawton Street and Great Highway around 10:15pm when two men approached him.

Two suspects in their 20s shoved the victim and stole his camera, then departed the scene in a car driven by a third suspect. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the altercation.

Police Discover Switchblade, Illegal Fireworks

SFist reported that officers from Taraval Station who responded to a vandalism call at 1:58 am on July 11 took a 31-year-old suspect into custody.

Officers determined that the individual had an outstanding warrant, but was also in possession of a switchblade knife, as well as “consumer fireworks.”

Clifford Terrace House Fire Under Investigation

At nearly the same time, officers from Park Station visited the 100 block of Clifford Terrace after a 47-year-old woman and her two children smelled smoke.

Once inside the premises, firefighters and police discovered a smoldering “pile of papers close to the couch.” An investigation is pending.

Two Women Robbed By Armed Men Near Twin Peaks

The Twin Peaks area also saw a second robbery at gunpoint. On July 9th, 1:10am, two men, 18-20, approached two women, 30 and 36, on Gardenside Drive just below Twin Peaks.

One of the men pushed one of the two women and grabbed her purse. The second man then pointed a gun at the other woman, demanding her property. The suspects fled in a vehicle with the victims' purses, credit cards, money, a passport and a wallet. No arrests have been made.

Man Hospitalized After Armed Robbery At 19th & Irving

As Hoodline reported, three armed assailants between 20 and 30 years of age robbed a man near 19th Avenue and Irving Street on Friday night, leaving the victim with non-life threatening injuries.

After brandishing a gun and demanding his property, all three punched him and stole his wallet before fleeing the scene.

Armed Robber Targets Three Photographers On Twin Peaks

A robbery at gunpoint occurred on July 1 at 10:27pm near Twin Peaks. As a woman and two men, 22-30, were taking photos at the viewpoint, a male suspect—described as being in his 20s—approached with a gun and demanded their property.

The suspect fled with the victims' cell phones, camera and lens, and backpack. No arrest has been made.

Woman Targeted In Armed Daylight Robbery

On July 2, a 37-year-old woman who was walking on the 3200 block off 20th Avenue was accosted by an armed man in his 20s who demanded her property.

The victim turned over her phone, as well as a wallet containing cash; the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
