Police yesterday arrested a San Francisco resident in connection with a fatal stabbing last week in Hayes Valley.

Officers who were doing a well-being check at a residence on the 300 block of Hayes Street at 3pm on November 2nd discovered Keith Harris, 48, suffering from multiple stab wounds of the floor of his apartment.

Although paramedics were called to the scene and Harris was transported to the trauma center at San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH), he succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide investigators followed information that led Sheriff’s deputies to arrest Othman Al-Muttalaby, 26, yesterday at SFGH while he was being treated for an undisclosed injury at approximately 3:30pm.

After an interview with SFPD, Al-Muttalaby was booked in absentia on homicide charges.

According to The Bay Area Reporter, Al-Muttalaby, who also goes by the name Alkoraishie Ali, was reportedly Harris’ boyfriend. The paper reported that Harris’ building manager contacted police after receiving a call from someone who said the victim “hadn't been seen in a couple of days.”

After letting himself inside Harris’ apartment and discovering a bloody crime scene, the manager called police, who discovered the victim.

Despite the arrest, police are still asking anyone with information about this case to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.
