Woman Fights Off Kidnapper In Ingleside DistrictPhoto: Google

A 26-year-old woman foiled an attempted kidnapping yesterday in the Ingleside district, police have reported.

In the incident, which took place at 3pm near the intersection of Majestic and Lakeview avenues, a suspect approximately 30 to 36 years old offered the victim a ride in his car. The woman got in, but when she asked to exit the vehicle, the suspect locked the doors.

At that point, the victim hit the suspect and “jumped out of the car.” The suspect fled the scene and was not apprehended, and the victim wasn’t injured.

Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.

Here’s why we usually don’t include suspect descriptions in crime reports.
