A Japantown resident was wounded by gunfire in his home early Sunday morning, police have reported.

The incident occurred at 1:52am on Sunday morning when a 63-year-old man on the 1600 block of Webster Street "heard gunshots from outside his residence," according to SFPD. At that point, the man "sustained an injury" to his leg.

The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and no arrests have been made in the case.

Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.
