A man who barricaded himself inside an Outer Sunset home last night was taken into custody this morning without incident, police have reported.
Last night, officers responded to a home on the 1600 block of 29th Avenue just before 11pm after receiving reports that a suspect had entered the garage and was possibly in possession of weapons.
Police arrived on the scene with members of the department's Crisis/Hostage Negotiation Team and closed nearby streets to traffic. According to NBC Bay Area News, there was no one else inside the residence.
At 8am, the 39-year-old suspect, who has not been identified, was taken into custody. A police spokesperson said he was immediately transported for medical treatment and a mental evaluation after his arrest.
