Time for another look at crime in SFPD's Central District, which includes Chinatown, Financial District, Embarcadero, Russian, Telegraph and Nob Hills, North Beach, and Union Square.

Here are some notable incidents that have taken place since our last biweekly recap. Unless otherwise noted, all reports are drawn from SFPD's daily summary.

3 detained in Lower Nob Hill homicide

On February 7th at 6:33pm, police responded to reports of a deceased person in Lower Nob Hill on the 500 block of Post Street. 

San Francisco police investigators followed leads to a resident in Petaluma and executed a search warrant resulting in the detention of three people. Read our full coverage here.

Three teens rob woman in park

On February 6th at 10:50am near the corner of Clay and Drumm Streets in the FiDi, three teen girls robbed a 36-year-old woman of her laptop. 

The victim was sitting in a park when one of the suspects shoved her and yanked her computer away. The suspect then handed it to an accomplice before all three fled the scene. 

Two women pepper-spray, rob victim

A 28-year-old man was pepper-sprayed and robbed on February 6th at 2am on the 400 block of Powell Street near Union Square. 

Two unknown women followed the victim as he was walking, assaulted him with a pepper spray agent, and then robbed him. 

The victim lost his wallet containing credit cards and sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the incident. 

Suspects steal bikes from parking area near Union Square

On the 400 block of Stockton Street on February 5th, two male suspects in their thirties and early twenties threatened a 25-year-old man with a knife as they were stealing bicycles.

The victim was near the Stockton Tunnel when he heard a noise coming from a bicycle parking area. When the two suspects noticed him, one brandished a knife and made threatening comments before they both fled the scene with stolen bikes.

Elderly woman shoved and robbed while walking

A 92-year-old woman was robbed February 4th at 12pm near Broadway and Stockton Street in Chinatown. 

The victim was walking when two unknown suspects came up from behind and pushed her to the ground. The suspects snatched her purse containing cash and a mobile phone before fleeing in an unknown direction. 

The victim reported minor injuries in the incident. 

Man attacked and robbed at Fisherman's Wharf

On the 200 block of Jefferson Street, a 45-year-old man was attacked and robbed. 

The victim was shopping in the area when four unknown women approximately 18-21 years old approached him from behind and pushed him. 

One of the suspects opened his backpack during the incident and purloined his wallet containing cash. Another suspect then punched him before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction. 

Minor injuries were reported, but the victim was not transported to a hospital. 

Four teens on bikes rob woman

At 4:30pm on February 3rd near the corner of Beach and Polk Streets in Russian Hill, a 28-year-old woman was robbed by four teenagers. 

The victim was walking and talking on the phone when four male suspects who were 17 or 18 years old rolled up on bicycles and tried to snatch her phone. She refused to let go, which led to a struggle. 

One of the suspects then hit the victim, causing her to release her grip. The teens then fled on their bicycles westbound on Beach Street. 

The victim reported suffering non-life-threatening injuries. 

Suspect yells at victim before punching him 

On February 3rd at 6:40pm near the corner of Post and Kearny Streets in the FiDi, a 26-year-old man was robbed. 

A man in his twenties or early thirties ran up to the victim and screamed at him, according to reports. The suspect then punched the man causing him to drop his headphones. The suspect picked up the audio equipment and fled on foot northbound on Kearny Street. 

Suspect slices man's hand after demanding cash

At 9pm on January 29th near North Point and Taylor Streets in Fisherman's Wharf, a 50-year-old man was stabbed. 

A 45-year-old male suspect approached the victim and demanded cash. He held up his hands and told the suspect that he had none. The suspect then pulled out a knife and slashed the victim's hand before fleeing in unknown direction. 

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment.
