After Liquor License Suspension, 'The Lodge' Goes Dark On HaightPhoto via Yelp

As reported today by Eater, The Lodge (400 Haight St.), a popular Lower Haight fixture for casual American fare, is currently closed pending an ABC license suspension.

The move comes on the heels of a temporary closure due to a mandatory seismic retrofit that was announced on the restaurant's web site.

Alcoholic Beverage Control says the license was suspended due to tax arrears—potentially less painful than disciplinary violations that would incur hefty penalties and mandatory closure periods.

The Lodge opened nearly two years ago in the former home of Rickybobby, and is helmed by chef and owner Matt Nudelman, formerly of Greenburger's.

Restaurant representatives were unavailable for comment at the time of this writing.
