A road rage incident escalated to robbery and assault on Wednesday night in the Inner Richmond, police have reported.

In the incident, which took place near 5th Avenue and Geary Boulevard around 9pm, a 22-year-old man was riding his skateboard when a man driving a van cut him off, exited his vehicle and punched the skater before stealing his board.

The suspect, who was in his twenties, fled in his van and was not arrested. The victim refused treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
