Two men in the Bayview district were wounded by gunfire in separate incidents last night, police have reported.

In the first shooting, which took place on the 1000 block of Oakdale Avenue around 11:10 p.m., a 20-year-old man heard the sound of gunfire before he realized that he'd been wounded.

The victim was transported to a hospital in non-life-threatening condition, and police have not identified a suspect.

In the second incident, which happened at 4:15 a.m. near the corner of Cameron and Nichols ways, two male suspects approached a 24-year-old man and opened fire. The victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening wounds and neither suspect was apprehended.

Anyone who has information about either of these incidents is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.

Here’s why we usually don’t include suspect descriptions in crime reports.
