Here's a selection of crimes that have occurred in Hayes Valley and the Western Addition since our last roundup in early May. All reports were provided by SFPD, unless otherwise noted.

Wallet stolen during violent struggle

On June 3 at 12:43 p.m. near Gough and Fell streets, a 40-year-old man pushed a 27-year-old woman and stole her purse. The woman struggled and got her purse back but the suspect took her wallet containing cash and fled the scene in a vehicle. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries, and the suspect was not arrested.

On May 15 at 6 p.m. near Turk and Laguna streets, a 33-year-old woman struck a 34-year-old woman before stealing her purse and fleeing the area. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries, but refused medical treatment.

Suspect injures woman during street robbery

On May 10 at 5 p.m. a 41-year-old woman was walking on Gough and Oak streets when a man in his late twenties came up behind her, shoved her to the ground, and took her purse, which contained a wallet, passport and an ID.

The victim, suffering from non-life threatening injuries, was transported to a hospital after hitting her head and arm on the ground. The suspect fled the scene on foot and was not arrested.

Officers detain robbery suspect after he exits store with knife

Shortly before midnight on May 7, officers saw a 31-year-old male suspect coming out of a store on the 200 block of Gough St. while holding a knife in his hand.

After determining that the suspect had just robbed the store, police took him into custody.

Northern Station monthly community meeting

Residents interested in learning learn more about crime and safety in the neighborhood are invited to attend Northern Station's community meetings,  held at the station (1125 Fillmore St.) at 6pm on the second Thursday of each month.

Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association public safety meeting

The Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association's next public safety meeting will take place on July 2 at 7 p.m. at the Korean American Center, 745 Buchanan St. The main topic will discuss the role adult probation plays in public safety. Ernest Mendieta, a division director in the city's Adult Probation Department, will join the meeting.
