A late-night robbery and assault in Golden Gate Park last week left a victim fighting for his life, police have reported.

On Friday, just after midnight, a 45-year-old man with life-threatening injuries approached a police officer near the park's lawn bowling area to report that he had been robbed and assaulted by two male suspects.

According to Officer Robert Rueca of SFPD's Media Relations Unit, police are still working to determine if there were more people involved in the attack, which left the victim without pants or shoes.

Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.

Here’s why we usually don’t include suspect descriptions in crime reports.
