Police are seeking an armed trio who violently robbed a woman in Fisherman's Wharf early this morning.

The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. near the corner of Jefferson and Powell streets where a 28-year-old woman who had just left a bar was standing on the corner.

The suspects approached her and tried to take her purse, but after she refused to release her bag, the male suspects pistol-whipped her while the female assailant punched her.

After the victim released her purse, the suspects stole her cellphone and wallet before entering a blue car and fleeing westbound on Jefferson Street.

The victim, who suffered swelling, bruising and cuts to the sides of her head, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.

Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.
