In the early hours of the morning, Antioch was rocked by a deadly shooting that ended the life of a 36-year-old man. At approximately 5:22 AM, officers were called to the scene on the 600 block of E.18th Street, where a male victim was found dead from a gunshot wound inside a parked car.

According to an Antioch Police Department press release, the man, whose identity is currently withheld pending family notification, appears to have been the sole target. This incident, sending whispers of fear through the community, surfaces questions about the veil of safety we presume envelopes our neighborhoods.

Crime Scene Investigators along with the Violent Crimes Unit detectives swiftly assumed control over the investigation with the hope to shed light on this seemingly isolated case.
