An elderly woman has perished in a devastating house fire on Albany Drive near Franklin. The Williamson County Fire Rescue confirmed the casualty following the early morning incident. Three additional individuals managed to break free from the inferno, which summoned a response from multiple agencies, as reported by WSMV.

The alarm was raised around 2:10 a.m., with the blaze quickly escalating at the residence located at the 2100 block of Albany Drive. Firefighters from the Arrington Fire Department, Franklin Fire Department and Williamson Fire/Rescue were in attendance and battled to control the flames. FOX17 reports that this effort also included Williamson County EMS and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

The deceased was an elderly family member related to the three survivors, who are currently being assisted by the American Red Cross. According to WKRN, amidst the crisis, both firefighters and family members made desperate attempts to enter the residence, but were repelled by the hazardous conditions created by the firestorm.

Investigative and recovery operations continued throughout the morning as crews from various emergency services remained at the scene. The family is now dealing with the aftermath of the tragedy that unfolded in the once peaceful neighborhood.
