Set for an early morning run on Sunday, April 21 from 8-10 a.m. the event at 3580 Holly Lane N. is set to feature a range of recreational options including trampolines, a ninja warrior course, indoor playground equipment, dodgeball games, and other attractions without the usual sensory overload, non-flashing/strobing lights and the absence of overhead music are provided for a more accommodating environment, the City said.
The initiative reflects an understanding of the challenges faced by those with sensory sensitivities, and aims to create a space where they can engage in playful activities comfortably; furthermore, the provision of quiet rooms replete with sensory activities shows a thoughtful consideration towards attendees needing a respite from the playful bustle.
Participants interested in joining are required to preregister with an entry fee of $20 per child—parents and guardians can accompany their young ones at no extra costs, according to the instructions laid out in the City's announcement, preregistration is a prerequisite for participation and can be readily completed online.
