The Houston Chronicle reports that McDougal was no stranger to the law, with a rap sheet blooming with at least 14 arrests since 2001, detailing encounters with the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Conroe Police Department, and others. The 2008 guilty plea in Brazoria County for enticing a child now. At the time of his latest arrest, McDougal was already behind bars facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. No court date for the capital murder charges has been hammered out yet.
