Tragedy struck a West Knoxville apartment complex late Thursday night when a woman was found shot to death, authorities said. The Knoxville Police Department (KPD) responded to the grim scene at approximately 9:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a deceased individual at 3210 Atchley Ridge Way.

Upon arriving at the location, KPD officers discovered the body of a woman who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the site, victim to violence, that has yet to find its author. Although detectives are following strong leads, no suspects have been arrested or charged in connection to the shooting at this time.
