A man was fatally shot at a Houston apartment complex on Sunday evening, according to local authorities. The shooting occurred around 8:55 p.m. at 10630 Beechnut Street, where Houston Police Department officers found the 40-year-old victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Details of the incident were provided by the Houston Police Department in a news release on Monday. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics, the Houston Police reported.

The identity of the deceased man is still under wraps, awaiting confirmation from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The Houston police have stated that a witness observed the victim involved in a heated verbal altercation just prior to the shooting. The suspect, whose description remains elusive, was seen retrieving a firearm and discharging it multiple times during an ensuing struggle, fleeing the area shortly after the incident, the police added.

They are leading the investigation into the circumstances of the shooting and are actively seeking any information regarding the suspect, who vanished in an unknown direction.
