Philadelphia's Center City District SIPS Celebrates 20 Years with Exclusive Deals and Specialty BrewsSource: Facebook/Center City District

Philadelphia is gearing up for the return of the Center City District SIPS, hitting its 20-year stride as the go-to Wednesday happy hour haunt. Starting June 5 and running through August 28, from 5 to 7 p.m., the summer tradition promises to offer its customary wallet-friendly deals including $7 cocktails, $6 wine, $5 beer, and half-price appetizers, according to PhillyVoice. After the drinks stop flowing at the discounted rates, select participating spots are poised to slash 15% off the dinner tab post-7 p.m.

Celebrating two decades of discounted libations, this year’s SIPS isn’t just pulling the taps but also pulling out all the stops with a new collaboration brew. The limited-edition "SIPS Summer Splash," described as a Mexican-style lager with lime, is set to debut and will be sold exclusively at Dilworth Park's Air Grille Garden, as reported by 6ABC. Marking the occasion, the park is also rolling out the roller rink on June 5, 12, and 26, exclusively for those attending Sips.

A pre-season teaser is on the calendar for May 22, as Dilworth Park throws a Sips Preview Party from 5-7 p.m. This free 21-and-over event is said to feature discounted drinks, DJ entertainment, and giveaways. "For the last twenty years, SIPS has been a must-do event for many young professionals working and living in Center City," Center City District CEO Prema Katari Gupta told NBC Philadelphia. "We now recognize that in-person events and socialization are more important than ever and we are thrilled to continue this iconic event."

From specialty brews to skating, SIPS is ready to serve more than just drinks. An array of bars and restaurants will be part of the program, including favorites like Barstool Sansom Street, Butcher Bar, Cavanaugh's Rittenhouse, and Drinker's Pub. Beer gardens like Independence Beer Garden, Uptown Beer Garden, and Walnut Garden are also joining the festivities, as reported by PhillyVoice. With the promise of exclusive pricing and an advisable reservation, Philadelphians can count on spending their summer Wednesdays sipping in the city.
