A teenage boy was hospitalized after a shooting incident in Grand Rapids, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, authorities reported. The 16-year-old victim was found with a gunshot wound to his back following gunshots heard on the 700 block of Southeast Ardmore Street, as confirmed by the Grand Rapids Police Department.

Officers initially responded to a call around 1:30 a.m., finding evidence of gunfire but no victims, according to 13 On Your Side. They left the scene close to 4 a.m., and, within minutes, another call reported further shots fired. This time, the teen was discovered, suggesting the shooting originated from outside the residence, with the round reaching him on the second story.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was rushed to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not deemed life-threatening. Despite the victim's current state of health, he has not been cooperating with the investigation, a detail that officials find hindering as they try to piece together the circumstances surrounding the event. As of now, the police have made no arrests in connection with the shooting.

A search warrant executed at the home in question has yet to yield a suspect, FOX 17 News reported.
