A dramatic ordeal came to a close as a 2-year-old Texas boy was found safe following an AMBER Alert issued after his suspected abduction at a park. San Marcos Police Department confirmed that Legend Torres, last seen Saturday at Children’s Park in San Marcos, was recovered nearly nine hours later in Dallas, unscathed.

Legend's suspected abductor, identified by authorities as 46-year-old Joey Torres, is now in police custody, reported KENS5. The search came to an end around 1:50 a.m. Sunday when police located Torres's vehicle at an apartment complex.

Details surrounding the circumstances of the abduction and subsequent recovery were not immediately released. However, officials credited the collaboration between the San Marcos Police Department and the Dallas Police Department for the swift location and rescue of the child.

"An AMBER Alert was issued on Saturday for Legend Torres, who had last been seen at 1 p.m. It was believed Torres was abducted by 46-year-old Joey Torres," in a statement obtained by KENS5. The effective use of the AMBER Alert system and interagency cooperation were highlighted by the successful outcome.

In their update, they said he was found with the child and is now in custody," according to a KWTX report.
