Gunfire erupted on the streets of Atlanta leading to two men being critically wounded in what appears to be a violent clash that turned into a shooting, authorities said.

According to the preliminary statement by the Atlanta Police Department, the victims—a 26-year-old male hit in the head, chest, and leg, and a 33-year-old male shot in the groin—were discovered at the scene, both were transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Early findings by the Aggravated Assault Unit which responded to the violent dispute that escalated quickly into gunfire, suggest that the shooting stemmed from a physical altercation involving several individuals; however, details are still emerging as the investigation is far from over, is ongoing.
