A BMW idling in the roadway became the center of a police discovery of illegal firearms and drugs in Union City. Around 3:30 A.M on April 15, Officer Ali, on routine patrol alongside Decoto Road and 7th Street, spotted the vehicle with its driver passed out at the wheel.

Concerned for the driver's welfare, Officer Ali conducted a check which revealed that the dozing individual had a pending warrant from the Los Angeles Police Department for vehicle theft. During the course of the investigation, the Union City police uncovered more than just the stolen vehicle issue.

A search of the BMW led to the recovery of two loaded firearms, marking a significant find in the city's ongoing efforts to curb gun-related violence. But the illegal items didn't stop there—officers also found several grams of marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms, along with drug paraphernalia inside the car.
