A young boy who was found wandering alone near Cypresswood Drive and Cypresswood Heights Drive in north Harris County this morning has been reunited with his parents, officials confirmed. The Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office stated that the parents were located following an appeal to the public that was shared via social media, as reported by FOX26 Houston.

The constable’s office said on a Facebook post, a local woman came upon the child early in the morning and contacted authorities, who in turn put out a photo and call for assistance through social media at around 6:30 a.m. He was checked by EMS and deputies began a search of the area in an attempt to find his family, and fortunately, just before 8:30 a.m., the child's family was located, their speedy discovery perhaps owing much to the wide reach and quick reactivity bestowed by the digital tools at our disposal, their value underscored in times of anxious searching and eventual relief.

Details surrounding the circumstances of the child's brief disappearance were not immediately disclosed by authorities. Nonetheless, the constable's office has indicated that an investigation into the matter will continue, suggesting that there may yet be unknown factors at play behind the scenes of this otherwise heartwarming resolution, as ABC13 conveyed the update.
