A gruesome discovery late Sunday night has set the Austin Police Department on a manhunt for a killer. At around 11:04 p.m., officers were called to the 700 block of West William Cannon Drive after reports of a man bleeding on the ground. Upon arrival, they found a male victim with a gunshot wound, who was rushed to the hospital by Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services but succumbed to his injuries early Monday morning.

The bloody aftermath of the crime has shaken the local community, as detectives and Crime Scene Specialists descended upon an apartment complex to piece together the night's events. The victim, who has not yet been identified pending family notification, had only just arrived at the location with a companion when an unknown assailant delivered the fatal shot and fled the scene.
