Delray Beach is setting the stage for an event dedicated to the often overlooked needs of the disability and neurodiversity community. According to a recent announcement by the Palm Beach County Library System, the first-ever Disability and Neurodiversity Resource Expo will be open to the public at no charge on Thursday, May 30, at the Hagen Ranch Road Branch Library.

The event will run from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and feature an array of organizations and agencies that serve the disabled and neurodiverse populations. Confirmed participants include 211(special needs advocate), the Coalition for Independent Living Options, and a variety of autism-focused educational institutions. A dedicated committee within the Library, known as the Disability and Neurodiversity Advocates,, is spearheading the expo with a commitment to aid parents and caregivers by introducing them to new resources aimed at improving their day-to-day lives.

Aimed at being a one-stop destination for those seeking support and services, the Resource Expo seeks to bring together experts and representatives from local, to county, to state and even federal levels. "This expo is set to showcase the extensive network of support that exists for those living with disabilities or are part of the neurodiverse community and their families," said a spokesperson for the Library.
