Tragedy struck Houston over the weekend when a woman was found shot to death, and the man suspected of the heinous crime has been discovered dead in what appears to be a suicide, according to authorities. The Houston Police Department identified the victim as Marquisha Jackson, 27, who was fatally shot at approximately 4 p.m. last Saturday at 8100 Calhoun Street, found lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds, the City of Houston reports.

Sergeant C. Ponder and Detective N. Henderson of the HPD Homicide Division revealed that the now-deceased suspect, Treyvon Johnson, 32, was presumably the victim's boyfriend and he was last seen with her in her blue Honda Accord. Yet, the vehicle and Johnson remained elusive until Tuesday. On May 7, the fateful discovery was made in Beaumont, Texas, where Beaumont Police found Johnson deceased in the back seat of the Honda, a revolver by his side.

As the investigation into Jackson's death continues, HPD has appealed to the public for additional information.
