A Knoxville man is facing a second-degree murder charge following an indictment by a Knox County Grand Jury. 33-year-old Thomas Solomon is accused in the killing of 47-year-old Trista Denton last year, reported the Knoxville Police Department. Authorities said Denton was shot on the morning of October 9, 2023, at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Ben Hur Avenue, WBIR disclosed.

After the shooting, Denton was rushed to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Details surrounding the incident remain sparse, but the indictment suggests a significant development in a case that has loomed over the community since last fall. Thomas Solomon, the man now indicted, is scheduled for his court appearance on May 24, according to Knoxville-based station WATE.
