Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Welcomes New Engine 69 with Traditional Push-In Ceremony in DoralSource: Facebook/Miami-Dade Fire Rescue

The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) celebrated the addition of Engine 69 to their fleet with a slice of old-time tradition in Doral on Thursday morning. Locals gathered at the Doral North Station #69, where the fire service's time-honored push-in ceremony saw firefighters literally pushing the new fire engine into its new home. The ceremony at 11151 NW 74 Street kicked off at 10 a.m., and the community's presence was a throwback to the bonding rituals of the late 1800s when horse-drawn fire wagons needed a push back into the station after a call, according to Miami-Dade press release.

Fire Chief Ray Jadallah highlighted the importance of Engine 69, equipped with a paramedic officer and three paramedic firefighters, which he says will enhance the department's ability to safeguard the community. "Engine 69, operating 24/7 alongside Rescue 69, Battalion 11, and two specialty technical rescue units, will be equipped with a paramedic officer and three paramedic firefighters to enhance fire rescue services in the City of Doral," Jadallah said in a statement obtained by the Miami-Dade report

The event not only honored tradition but also signaled MDFR's commitment to maintaining state-of-the-art emergency response solutions. With features that emphasize advanced life-saving care, Engine 69 is set to be an integral asset in handling the increasing emergency demands of the growing City of Doral area.

Community members interested in the fire department's newest advancements were encouraged to attend the event and had been asked to confirm attendance by email at [email protected] - interviews during the ceremony were lined up to cater to both English and Spanish speakers, with MDFR’s Media and Public Relations Bureau sharing their phone number, 305-814-8051 for further details.
