The culinary landscape of Detroit's Midtown has a fresh addition with the grand opening of Epiphany - Nain Rouge Kitchen, a new restaurant aiming to blend global flavors with American comfort food, reports CBS News Detroit. Backed by the local nonprofit Soil2Service, the establishment has settled into a historic building at 644 Selden Street, a location with a storied past as the former Smith Welding Supply & Equipment Company and Owosso Casket Company.

The endeavor is led by Jeremy Abbey, Executive Director of Soil2Service, alongside John T. Piazza, Executive Director of Business Development, who have both expressed their excitement about contributing to Detroit's culinary and cultural fabric through this latest venture, according to details provided by ClickOnDetroit. The new restaurant not only intends to serve up a diverse menu, featuring dishes such as chicken fried quail and a roasted onion IPA dip but also utilizes its space for expanding the Detroit Institute of Gastronomy (DIG) program through cooking classes open to the public and hosting local chefs' association meetings.

Notably, the restaurant will launch a special brunch service starting on Mother's Day, with plans to continue every following Sunday, as mentioned by Patch. Patrons will be treated to an array of brunch options including the Epiphany omelet, shirred eggs, bread pudding French toast, and fresh squeezed mimosas among others; further establishing Epiphany as a potential go-to for Detroit's brunch enthusiasts.

Abbey shared their commitment to culinary excellence and reducing food waste, all while fostering human connections through a shared dining experience, they said, "We are overjoyed to launch this next step for our non-profit. We are dedicated to redefining the essence of American comfort food by celebrating the rich tapestry of global flavors that have woven themselves into the local culinary landscape," as per ClickOnDetroit. As for the beverages, Epiphany patrons can look forward to a diverse selection of cocktails, mocktails, and local brews from Nain Rouge Brewery.

Epiphany - Nain Rouge Kitchen operates Wednesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday, it extends its hours from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., ensuring residents and visitors alike have ample opportunity to savor the culinary delights that await within. With its dedication to sustainability, diverse cuisine, and enriching Detroit's food scene through educational initiatives, Epiphany - Nain Rouge Kitchen seems poised to become a staple in the community's diverse gastronomic tapestry.
