Law enforcement agencies in Oakland County, Michigan, cracked down on drug operations on May 2, performing a series of raids that netted a significant amount of narcotics and firearms. The swoop by the County of Macomb Enforcement Team (COMET) resulted in over 500 grams of cocaine, more than 50 grams of fentanyl, oxycodone pills, and two guns being taken off the streets. In a coordinated effort to combat the drug trade, the Thumb Narcotics Team, Waterford Police Department, Oakland County Sheriff's Office, and the FBI lent their expertise to COMET in these raids.

According to FOX 2 Detroit, the drugs have an estimated street value of around $20,000. Detectives managed to also confiscate around $2,600 in cash believed to be ill-gotten proceeds from these illicit activities. While no arrests have been reported immediately, officials indicate that the investigation is ongoing and proceedings are very much active.

While the raids did not yield any immediate arrests, MSP Lt. Mike Shaw informed The Oakland Press that an extensive investigation is underway. Subsequent to these searches, conducted with precision by COMET, the police and their federal partners will delve deeper into the evidence gathered in a bid to track down and dismantle the networks behind this drug operation. "No arrests have been made yet, and an investigation continues into the case," Shaw told The Oakland Press, signaling that law enforcement is unrelenting in its pursuit of justice against those entangled in the drug trade's dark web.
