San Francisco's streets were less safe when Robert Christopher Curry, 31, was on the prowl. But following a jury's verdict, the man who boldly committed burglary and assault in broad daylight has been brought to justice. According to a press release from the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins confirmed the conviction of Curry for a string of offenses, including first-degree residential burglary, assault, and theft.

"The jury's verdict holds Mr. Curry accountable for his brazen crimes," Jenkins said via the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. She promised to relentlessly continue the fight to protect public safety and ensure consequences for criminal behavior. Curry's mid-day terror tore through the peaceful Pacific Heights neighborhood when, on June 20 at about 11:30 AM, he followed a homeowner into an attached garage and then violently assaulted a nearby worker. His attempt to quickly make off with stolen property from the stunned victims was thwarted by the prompt response of San Francisco Police.
According to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, Assistant District Attorney Angela Roze, leading the charge in court, said, "This verdict brings justice to the victims, who were just going about their daily activities when they were blindsided by the defendant." The disturbing home invasion and subsequent attack, which resulted in the victim suffering bruising and swelling after being punched and pushed to the ground, ended with Curry snatching the victim's car keys and work cell phone. However, the police arrived to arrest Curry and return the stolen items to their rightful owner.
Currently behind bars, the convicted man faces up to nearly twelve years in state prison for his crimes. The community now temporarily breathes a bit easier with Curry in custody. Sentencing is set for May 13, and with extensive evidence and committed work from everyone involved, the District Attorney's Office stands firm on its stance against crime. The collaborative efforts of various branches of the law, including investigator Doug Keely and the paralegal staff, were pivotal to building a case that would stand strong under the jury's scrutiny.
