Bombshell Treat Bar Sweetens Berkley with Grand Opening on Coolidge HighwaySource: Google Street View

Berkley's latest addition to the sweet scene, Bombshell Treat Bar, is set to open its doors this Friday at noon. The grand opening of the 2,200-square-foot shop at 2688 Coolidge Highway, which includes a range of indulgent offerings such as signature chocolate-dipped ice cream bars and hot pretzels, has been long-awaited after its initial announcement in late 2022. This information was reported by FOX 2.

Despite plans to launch last spring, the establishment, which originated as a favorite ice cream cart business, experienced delays. Known for its extravagant ice cream bars, the store will now operate six days a week, providing treats like soft serve ice cream, floats, grab-n-go "packed pints," ice cream cakes, and more. Jill Kasle, owner of Bombshell Treat Bar, expressed her enthusiasm, "Opening a reimagined ice cream store has been a dream of mine," she told Metro Times. "Ice cream has a way of always making people smile, it is also a surefire way to bring a community together."

The pop-up successfully capitalized on contactless delivery during the pandemic, where it gained popularity through its 'Big Dipper' ice cream cart. Now transitioning to a permanent location, Bombshell is bringing its unique flavors, which include options like lemonade, salted caramel, and Mexican hot chocolate, to downtown Berkley. The business, which opened its first storefront this week, was originally slated to open last summer, according to a report by Patch.

Bombshell's decor features a mural by Motown Sign Co. stating "Life is Sweeter in Berkley." In addition, the space's design came from the creative minds at McIntosh Poris Architects and Unsold Studio. While diving into an array of sweet selections, patrons can bask in the ambiance that celebrates Berkley's charm. "We’re so thrilled that our journey has landed in this part of town," Kasle articulated, her sentiments echoed by Metro Times.
